Cookies Policy

What cookies and similar technologies Contexion™ uses, and how you can control them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They let the site remember information about your visit — like your login state, preferences, or how you navigate the pages — so the experience works smoothly across sessions. This Policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, mobile device identifiers, and pixels.

What this Policy covers

This Policy applies across all of Contexion™ — contexion.ai (our marketing website), app.contexion.ai (the web application), the Contexion mobile apps for iOS and Android, and the digital cards you publish and share. Storage behaves differently on each, so this Policy is explicit about which surface it is describing:

  • contexion.ai — sets no cookies at all and loads no third-party resources.
  • app.contexion.ai — sets the strictly necessary and functional cookies listed below, plus analytics where you have consented.
  • The mobile apps — do not use browser cookies. They use the operating system's secure storage to hold your session and preferences, which you clear by signing out or deleting the app. They set no advertising identifiers and do not track you across other companies' apps.

Why Contexion™ uses cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (theme, billing currency, dismissed banners), understand how the Service is used at an aggregated level, and detect fraudulent or abusive activity. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or sell your behavior to third parties.

Types of cookies we use

The cookies below are set by the web application at app.contexion.ai. The marketing pages you are reading now set none of them, and the mobile apps use secure device storage instead of cookies to achieve the same things.

Strictly necessary

Required for the Service to function — without them you cannot sign in, share cards, or capture leads. These are always on and cannot be disabled through our consent banner.

  • cx_session — keeps you logged in.
  • cx_csrf — protects against cross-site request forgery.
  • cx_workspace — remembers which workspace you last viewed.

Functional

Remember your preferences and customizations.

  • cx_billing_period — remembers monthly vs annual toggle on the pricing page.
  • cx_dismissed_* — hides product tips and banners you have dismissed.
  • cx_lang — preferred display language.

Analytics

Help us understand which pages and features are used most so we can improve the product. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not build cross-site profiles.

  • Aggregated pageview counts, referrer URLs, device/browser breakdown, and approximate country (derived from IP).
  • No personally identifiable information is sent to our analytics provider.

Marketing

We do not currently set any marketing or advertising cookies. We run no ad tags, no retargeting pixels, and no cross-site trackers. If that ever changes we will update this Policy and ask for your opt-in consent before setting them — we will not enable them retroactively on the basis of a choice you made earlier.

Third-party cookies and requests

The public Contexion™ website sets no cookies and loads no third-party resources. Every asset — including our typefaces — is served from our own domain, so simply browsing contexion.ai does not transmit your IP address or any other data to an outside company. There is nothing to consent to on these pages.

Fonts deserve a specific note, because many sites get this wrong: the Playfair Display, Outfit, and Space Mono typefaces in our design system are self-hosted. We do not load them from Google Fonts, so no font request ever reaches Google's servers.

Inside the signed-in application, a small number of trusted providers may set strictly necessary cookies when their features are in use:

  • Stripe — payment fraud prevention, on checkout and billing pages only.
  • Cloudflare — bot protection and DDoS mitigation at our edge network.

Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy. We do not embed third-party video players, advertising tags, or social media widgets anywhere on our site or in the app.

Managing your preferences

Because the public marketing site sets no cookies and makes no third-party requests, there is no consent banner on these pages — there is nothing to consent to.

In the signed-in application, where analytics cookies are used, visitors from regions with consent requirements (EEA, UK, California and others) are shown a banner to accept, reject non-essential cookies, or choose per category. Non-essential cookies stay off until you opt in. You can change your choice at any time from "Cookie preferences", and clear stored preferences from Account → Privacy → Reset cookie consent.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out of the sale and sharing of personal information where the law requires it. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat non-essential cookies as declined without you having to interact with the banner.

Browser and device controls

You can also manage cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, delete existing cookies, or get a notification before a cookie is set. Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in at app.contexion.ai and prevent the web application from working — it will not affect your ability to browse contexion.ai, which sets none.

On mobile, the Contexion apps do not use browser cookies, so browser settings do not apply to them. Signing out of the app clears its stored session, and deleting the app removes its local storage entirely. Device permissions such as notifications, camera, contacts, and location are controlled in your iOS or Android settings at any time — see Mobile apps and device permissions in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time as we change the cookies we use. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated in-product.
